Artspace Mackay Foundation legacy

For 14 years from 2006 to 2020, Artspace Mackay Foundation was an independent, non-profit organisation whose mission was to strengthen financial support for Artspace Mackay by driving philanthropic activities that resulted in sustainable partnerships with individuals, businesses and government. The Philanthropic support cultivated by the Foundation during this time came in many forms, both corporate and private, including sponsorships, bequests, and donations. As the vital fundraising arm of the gallery for many years, Artspace Mackay Foundation contributed to the acquisition of many important and exciting works for the Mackay Regional Council Art Collection.

The funds raised by the Foundation throughout this period enabled Artspace Mackay to invest back into Mackay's community through:
* A greater number of public & education programs
* Artist in residence programs, art workshops, school tours
* Art acquisitions
* Special exhibitions and cultural events
* The support of emerging artistic talent from the region

Leaving a legacy

The Artspace Mackay Foundation vision to advance the creative and cultural landscape of Mackay region, and enrich the lives of Mackay residents and future generations will endure, with a final significant donation of approx. $300,000 to Artspace Mackay. Substantial funds will be designated to support the ongoing development of the Mackay Regional Council Art Collection with the purchase of artworks, and vital financial support for gallery education programs and curated exhibitions.
