Visual Arts Advisory Committee (VAAC)

The Visual Arts Advisory Committee (VAAC) provides advice to council on the ongoing development and management of the Mackay Regional Council Art Collection. The voluntary advisory committee meets quarterly to:

  • consider new acquisitions for and donations to the Art Collection and appropriate de-accessions;
  • provide feedback and advice on proposed public art projects; and,
  • support the development and implementation of systems, policies and practices that ensure sound management of the Art Collection.

The VAAC is comprised of council officers and members of the local arts community who reflect the diverse visual arts practices, culture and geography of the Mackay Regional Council area.
