Artspace Mackay presents Kulba A Kaib, a major solo exhibition by acclaimed Torres Strait Islander artist Brian Robinson (Kala Lagaw Ya / Wuthathi). Born on Waiben (Thursday Island) and now based in Cairns, Robinson is known for his intricate and imaginative works that draw together cultural knowledge, ancestral stories and contemporary visual culture through printmaking, sculpture, installation and design.

This exhibition explores the enduring relationships between people, place and the cosmos. Through richly layered imagery, Robinson reflects on Torres Strait Islander knowledge systems, constellations, spirituality and the continuing presence of ancestors, inviting audiences to consider the ways cultural knowledge is carried across generations.
