Unlike traditional books, artists books are conceived and created as artworks in their own right, often produced in limited editions or as one-of-a-kind pieces. They can take many forms, from handcrafted volumes and sculptural objects to experimental publications that challenge how we read and experience a book.

Every two years we proudly present the prestigious national Libris Awards: The Australian Artists Book Prize and hold the abbe Conference and Artists Book Fair to celebrate and share the art form of artist books. These unique events not only provide local artists an opportunity to exhibit but to also connect with and learn from leading and emerging artists book makers from across Australia.
