If you’re feeling inspired to head out on an art making expedition, pack your vehicle and follow this map to tread in the footsteps of artist Ron McBurnie, exploring picturesque locations scattered throughout the Mackay region. In 2021, Artspace Mackay presented his solo exhibition Ron McBurnie: In Search of Arcadia after the artist completed an extended residency in Mackay.

Ranging from large scale public sculptures to extensive painted laneway murals, there is so much to discover. Mackay Laneway Art Walk

Educators, visitors and community members will enjoy this 1 hour circuit walk of the many colourful and varied artist murals that activate and brighten Mackay City Centre’s urban laneways. It is an ideal art exploration for teachers, families and groups to consider doing in conjunction with a visit or guided tour of Artspace exhibitions!
