POSTPONED UNTIL SUNDAY 18 AUGUST: Artspace Skills Workshop: learn to bind a hardcover book!18th Aug 2013 9:00am - 18th Aug 2013 4:00pmWhether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist, you’ll enjoy learning the beautiful, age-old skill of hard cover case binding. It’s an easy and enjoyable process, and you can go on to use these valuable skills at home to recycle or re-purpose materials into notebooks or art journals, scrapbook favourite photos & memories, or for making beautifully finished artist books just like the ones in Artspace Mackay’s artists books collection. Participants in this workshop will learn to make the book in two parts. First you’ll learn the process of stitching together a text block of pages for the body of the book, then you’ll work with tools, materials and techniques to create a cloth-bound hard cover.
